Minister with Responsibility for Crime Prevention Corey Lane says his team is focused on ensuring the number of robberies across the island continues to decline.
He’s revealed collaborations with the National Peace Programme and other Ministries have been instrumental in achieving this goal.
He was speaking as he paid a courtesy call to the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Office in Belleville.
Given recent statistics showing spikes and dips for robberies, he says they’ll be ramping up their intervention strategies shortly.
Director of the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit, Cheryl Willoughby, says they are ready and willing to assist with reducing crime.
