During today’s Estimates Debate, which focused on the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security, Leader of the Opposition Ralph Thorne called for updates on the cannabis industry as well as the Black Belly Sheep project with Guyana.
Minister Indar Weir responded to those queries in the post-lunch session.
He indicated he’s awaiting an update on the sheep sent to Guyana. It will come from Dr. Leroy McClean when he travels to the South American territory.
Regarding the medicinal cannabis industry, Weir indicated over $15 million had been injected into the industry thus far.
He added the delays encountered stem from external factors.
