The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 358 new COVID-19 cases – 185 males and 173 females – on Wednesday, October 27th out of the 2,275 tests conducted.

Of the new cases, 72 people were under the age of 18, and 286 were 18 years and older.

There are 748 people in isolation facilities, and 4,976 in home isolation.

To date, 147,978 people – 64.8 per cent of the eligible population – have received at least one dose of the vaccine under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

A total of 124,043 people (45.8 per cent of the total population or 54.3 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has conducted 382,688 tests and recorded 16,782 confirmed cases (8,145 males and 8,637 females) of COVID-19.
