The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 132 new cases of COVID-19 (54 males and 78 females) from the 1,161 tests conducted on Wednesday, December 8th.

Of the positive cases, 18 people are under the age of 18, and 114 are 18 years and older.

Patients in isolation facilities numbered 295, while 1,960 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 447,564 tests since February last year, and recorded 26,565 cases (12,652 males and 13,913 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of individuals with at least one dose is 154,226 (67.5 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 138,857 (51.2 per cent of the total population or 60.8 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those 12 years and older.
