Rapper A$AP Rocky was arrested this morning, moments after landing at the Los Angeles International Airport on a private jet following a stay in Barbados.
The 33 year old, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was taken in to custody in connection with a 2021 shooting in Hollywood.
In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department said he was detained on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
They say around 10:15 p.m. on November 6th, an argument between two acquaintances escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim, who reportedly sustained a minor injury. Following the shooting, the suspect and 2 other males fled the area on foot.
Authorities subsequently identified the suspect as Mayers.
A$AP Rocky was on vacation in Barbados with girlfriend Rihanna.
