157 new COVID-19 cases recorded

A total of 157 new COVID-19 cases (71 males and 86 females) were recorded on Wednesday, July 6th, from the 629 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases comprise 26 people under the age of 18, and 131 who are 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 83, while 1,505 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 709,101 tests since February 2020, and recorded 85,488 COVID-19 cases (39,124 males and 46,364 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162,671 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 153,624 (56.7 per cent of the total population or 67.3 per cent of the eligible population).
