The Fair Trading Commission has set a deadline for the Barbados Light and Power Company to shut down its steam plant facility on the Mighty Grynner Highway.
It was one of the orders coming out of the FTC Decision on the BLPC application for a rate increase.
Hearing Commissioner and FTC Deputy Chairman, Dr. Donley Carrington issued the order.
He has instructed the utility to provide monthly reports for each generating unit as set out in the decision.
There was also much discussion about BLPC self insurance fund.
The FTC Deputy Chair says there needs to be an adjustment there as well.
