Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong has told the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, Barbados and other countries in the region recognise their present and future are bound with the motherland and the African Union.
During his contribution to the Thematic Discussion on Pan-Africanism for Dignity, Justice and Peace, he says Barbados and other states have already taken steps in building ties as they recognise Pan-Africanism is a powerful tool for development.
The Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, which is taking place at UN Headquarters, ends tomorrow.
While recognising the strides made by people of African descent, Ambassador Comissiong wants countries to be mindful of crisis situations and existential challenges.
