Power outage due to grass fire

A grass fire this morning has left some residents in Bannatyne, Christ Church and surrounding areas without power.

In a social media post, the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited said it is aware of the outage, which is due to a grass fire in the area which has damaged several utility poles.

The utility company says its crews are on standby to begin repair work once the fire has been extinguished, and thanked affected customers for their patience.
