A training programme is being undertaken to set a new mark for Barbados in the area of cyber training.
It is being conducted through the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT), along with the Student Revolving Loan Fund and is now at the midway mark at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
The participants were thanked for being pioneers in the area.
Along with learning the programme, the soft skill of teamwork is also being developed.
Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Kay McConney, says the programme started with 156 individuals enrolled but has shrunk somewhat for various reasons.
The director of Cyber Nations, Dr. Rick Huiberjts, told the participants they are the first cohort of a very ambitious plan by the Barbados Government to train 1,500 people.
