St. Matthews Primary has celebrated Healthy Lifestyles Week with a twist.
This week the school welcomed bodybuilding and fitness athletes for an informative session aimed at educating the children about the foods they consume both positive and negative.
Leading the effort was fitness guru Ramon “Doddy” Dodson and multiple bikini fitness champion Shakira Doughlin, who fielded several questions.
Dodson, who is an ambassador for Kure Oxygen Water, even had time to flex some muscle, displaying his chiselled physique.
Physical Education teacher Ronny Murrell says the focus is on healthy mind, healthy bodies and healthy living.
Both Dodson and Doughlin say intervention at a very young age is important as Barbados continues to battle non communicable diseases.
