The body of former St. Catherine, Barbados and West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman, Thelston Payne journeyed to the Cricket Legends of Barbados last evening, as friends, family and fans gathered for the signing of the condolences book and to pay tribute.
Among those viewing Payne’s body were legends Sir Wes Hall, Sir Gordon Greenidge, Joel Garner, and Cammie Smith.
Payne, who had an illustrious career with both bat and gloves for the Bayfield-based St. Catherine Cricket Club, which he also captained and later coached, left many broken hearts.
The funeral service for Thelston Payne will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 27 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium from 10:00 a.m.
