Super50 Cup: Barbados Pride power to victory in opener

Half centuries from Roston Chase and Zachary McCaskie powered Barbados Pride to a six-wicket victory in their opening match against West Indies Academy in the CG Super-50 Cup tournament in Antigua on Tuesday.

Chase slammed an unbeaten 86 off 81 balls, inclusive of nine fours and four sixes, while opener McCaskie hit 71 with nine fours and one six, as the Pride easily reached the target, ending on 214 for four.

Sent into bat at Coolidge Cricket Ground, the West Indies Academy were limited to 213 all out in 46.1 overs.

Ramon Simmonds snapped up four for 39, while there were two wickets apiece for Roshon Primus and Roston Chase.

Keagan Simmons top scored with 64, Kevin Wickham made 52 and Teddy Bishop 45.
