The staffroom at the St. Albans Primary School now bears the name of one of its illustrious students, who returned to the institution years later to make her mark in the classroom.
Current Principal, Wendine Prince says renaming the room “The Wendy Alleyne Staff Lounge” is a fitting tribute to a woman who gave her all to the school.
Ms. Prince was speaking during a brief ceremony to mark the occasion, noting that although over a year late, the gesture was appropriate.
She says even after Ms. Alleyne had retired, nothing was too much to ask of her, so long as it was for the students’ benefit.
Woman of the hour, Ms. Alleyne says she is humbled by the honour.
