Man charged following car chase

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit and the Guns and Gangs Unit have arrested and formally charged 28-year-old Dario Jermaine Shorey, of Hinds Gap, Halls Road, St. Michael for a number of criminal and traffic offences.

These occurred last Monday, 13 September in the areas of Dash Valley and Constant, St George.

The offences are as follows.

Criminal Offences:

1. Unlawful Possession of one (1).22 Calibre Pistol

2. Unlawful Possession of eight (8) rounds of Ammunition

3. Assault.

Traffic Offences:

1. No driving license

2. No third-party insurance

3. Failure to register the vehicle

4. Fraudulent use of number plates

5. Driving without due care and attention

6. Driving without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road

7. Dangerous driving

8. Failing to stop at the sound of the siren.

In addition, he was also charged for the following criminal offences which occurred on Monday 14 June at Lower Burney, St Michael:

1. Unlawful Possession of one (1) firearm to wit a Glock Pistol

2. Unlawful Possession of nineteen (19) rounds of Ammunition.

He is scheduled to appear at the District ‘B’ Magistrate’s Court in Blackmans, St Joseph on Monday 20 September 2021.
