Given the COVID-19 restrictions to fund raising activities, Soroptimist International Barbados is seeking help in cash or in kind to repair units at its Senior Citizens’ Village at Eden Lodge.
President Ramona Smart tells CBC the first set of residences in the 24 unit village date back to 1978.
Now some of those said structures are over 40 years old, uninhabitable and in dire need of repairs, the group has launched its Adopt A Unit campaign to appeal for assistance from the public.
Two units in particular, numbers 12 and 13 are in the worst condition requiring an estimated $45,000 to whip them back into shape.
