With approximately 100 amputations taking place in Barbados each year, a local charity is on a mission to drum up support for amputees.
Suzanne Watts, the Founder and Trustee of Walk Proud Again is leading the effort.
It includes several outreach programmes to boost awareness and educate the public.
Ms. Watts was speaking to CBC on the sidelines of her charity’s first outreach and pin drive at Sheraton Mall.
She revealed the goal is to raise $50,000 within the next year to help amputees.
