The season of Emancipation is upon us once again and Barbados today marks the 206th anniversary of the 1816 Slave Rebellion, remembering all who took part.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says they provided valuable support to General Bussa in that struggle to free Barbadians from slavery.
She says we the descendants of these brave men and women must hold the events dear to our hearts.
