As part of his official visit to Barbados, President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame today paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency, Dame The Most Honorable Sandra Mason, President of Barbados at State House, Government Hill, St. Michael.
During the visit, the two discussed matters of significance to both countries. President Kagame also signed the Visitor’s Book at State House and made a commitment to return to Barbados in the future.
President Kagame was accompanied by an entourage comprising Minister of Finance, the Hon. Uzziel Ndagijimana and Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Development Board Clare Akamanzi, while the Barbados delegation included Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs/Acting Minister of Tourism and International Transport Kirk Humphrey, who is also Chaperone Minister, and Chief of Protocol, Resa Layne.
The presidential visit to Barbados coincides with Government’s thrust to expand and deepen relations with countries in Africa.
President Kagame arrived on island yesterday, April 15th and is scheduled to leave later today.
