The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) and the Sanitation Services Authority (SSA) continue to discuss workers’ issues, but the union is pushing to have the allowances granted.
Speaking to CBC News today, Deputy General Secretary of NUPW, Wayne Walrond said the Chairman of SSA, Dr. Ramon Alleyne, KC, has been working well with them.
Mr. Walrond says they will press for the hazard pay and other allowances such as washing, given the nature of garbage collection.
