Through the Plant Protection Bill, Barbados is not only protecting its plant resources but ensuring it meets international standards set by the World Trade Organisation.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight says the legislation is fundamental to our survival, given the number of threats to plants.
Speaking in the Upper House, she noted the Plant Protection Bill is linked to food security and is key to trade.
