A veteran educator wants Spanish to be made compulsory in the island’s schools given the tourist traffic coming from north, central and South America.
Hanna Rouse-Sargeant, who has been teaching for over two decades, sees foreign languages as being key in all sectors.
Speaking as she reopened her Caribbean Vocational and Career Development Institute in Wotton, Christ Church, she told CBC News she has been doing her own private research.
The centre, which has been in operation since 2014, also offers French and music to children and adults but was closed due to the pandemic.
