The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) has given the Ministry of Education until Monday to address a number of grievances at the Harbour Industrial Park Branch of the School Meals Department.
Workers there walked off the job this morning, expressing frustration about malfunctioning equipment, faulty vehicles and a staff shortage.
Deputy general secretary of the NUPW, Wayne Walrond, says the issues have been outstanding for some time and the workers have decided to take a stand.
General Secretary Richard Green, says the prevailing conditions are challenging but the NUPW will work with Ministry officials to avoid another flare-up.
