The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados and the Barbados Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition have applauded the implementation of the School Nutrition Policy.
They say it embraces World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations for childhood obesity prevention and the April deadline for banning sugary beverages in schools is a bold step in the fight against childhood obesity.
Coalition Chairperson Dr. Kia Lewis congratulated the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Wellness for such an all-embracing policy launch.
