Barbadians should know by early next month whether there will be a Soca Monarch Competition during this year’s Crop Over Festival.
After the National Cultural Foundation announced there would be none last month, calypsonian Adrian Clarke decided to fill the void.
But he says with only a few months to execute, the staging of the “Caribbean Soca Monarch” or “Soca Rumble”, will depend on successfully getting the backing of corporate Barbados.
Mr Clarke tells CBC News they have already identified Bushy Park, St Philip as the potential venue for the event.
