Barbadians are to be better sensitised about the intangible elements of their heritage through a special community outreach.
This initiative is being carried out by the Ministry of Culture through the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, and will see more work being done in areas like cultural foods and pastimes.
The high-points so far are the registration of the Barbados Landship and road tennis on the UNESCO listing.
Programme Advisor in the Office of Reparations and Economic Enfranchisement, Rodney Grant says a manual has been prepared that will assist in its outreach.
Mr. Grant was a guest on CBC TV8’s Morning Report.
He expects the Landship and road tennis to gain further international recognition through the UNESCO listing.
