WI Academy, Team Weekes draw match

West Indies Academy and Team Weekes played to a draw in the second match of the Headley/Weekes Tri-series in Antigua this evening.

Resuming the fourth and final day on 378 for four at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, the Academy lost their final six wickets for 57 runs, to be bowled out for 435 – a lead of 34 runs.

Double century scorer Kirk McKenzie moved his overnight 209 to 221, while Kevin Wickham was out for 121 after resuming on 104.

Jair McAllister was the pick of the bowlers taking four wickets and Veersammy Permaul three.

Team Weekes in their second innings reached 107 for three, a lead of 73 runs when the players shook hands.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored 53.

The third match of the series is set for May 3 to 6, between Team Headley and Team Weekes.
