Barbadian surfer Chelsea Tuach has qualified for the upcoming CAC and Pan Am Games after booking a spot in the semifinals of the Women’s Short-board event at the ongoing Pan American Surfing Championships in Panama today.
Tuach, competing in heat three of the quarterfinals, finished second with a best wave of 5.87, for a total of 11.37.
Barbadian Chelsea Roett was in the same heat but finished 4th with an overall 7.27.
The heat was won by Lucia Indurain of Argentina, with a total of 11.66.
Meantime, the Burke brothers – Joshua and Jacob did not get past round three of the Men’s Short-board.
Jacob finished third in heat two with an 8.26 score, as Marcos Correa of Brazil won with 12.57.
However, Joshua did not compete in heat six.
