Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta has described the COVID-19 pandemic as a wake up call for CARICOM and Africa.
Noting it has had a similar impact on the two regions, President Kenyatta said the outbreak and spread of the viral illness has over-stretched and redefined health systems across the developing world and reshaped responses to the pandemic.
President Kenyatta, who is also Chairman of the first ever Africa-CARICOM Conference held virtually, says outside of COVID pandemic, the two regions can work together to exploit the resources in the Blue Economy and to address debt sustainability.
