Several new prizes are being introduced for this year’s National Independence Festival of Creative Arts.
This from Chief Cultural Officer at the National Cultural Foundation Andrea Wells.
She was speaking during the official launch of the 50th anniversary of NIFCA.
This year’s celebrations will also feature new citizenship prizes in partnership with the National Transformation Initiative, and the commissioning of murals at schools, in tribute to seven NIFCA icons.
During the evening, attendees viewed video installations of various disciplines over the years, as well as performances in song, dance and music.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with Responsibility for Culture, Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight, says NIFCA continues to provide a platform for topical issues.
