As global temperatures and greenhouse gas emissions break records, the Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank continues to press the case for small island developing states given their vulnerability.
CDB President Dr. Hyginus Gene Leon told a special meeting of the Organisation of American States, if the planet’s temperature rises above five degrees Celsius, the impacts will be catastrophic.
Dr. Leon says without collective effort and responsibility, the whole planet suffers.
He adds the region needs to make the just energy transition real.
