Minister of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology Davidson Ishmael sees potential for Barbadians to tap into the global fashion industry.
The industry is one he says Government has provided two million dollars to further develop, given its global value.
Other sectors Minister Ishmael believes can make a contribution to the island’s economy include film and furniture.
The Minister was at the time contributing to the Debate on amendments to the National Insurance and Social Security (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill.
Mr. Ishmael adds similar to the creation of a shared-use facility through the International Food Science Centre, Government will be taking a similar approach for the film, furniture and fashion industries.
