Wrong contract

Member of Parliament for St. George North, Toni Moore, has called attention to the classification of self-employed individuals and what she describes as a worrying trend with workers in pseudo or quasi-employment.

Ms Moore, the General Secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, has also called on what will soon become the National Insurance and Social Security Service to do the necessary monitoring and enforcement.

She was speaking during the debate on the National Insurance and Social Security Amendment (Number 2) Bill, 2023.
