The Barbados Port Incorporated has spent more than two million dollars to upgrade its cruise infrastructure.
With an anticipated busy 2023/2024 cruise season, Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding-Edghill has indicated the enhancements were made to ensure the port’s operations were efficient, safe and environmentally friendly.
These upgrades, he says were also timely, as the country continues to see an upward trend in its cruise sector.
The Minister’s comments came at the weekend as he addressed a ceremony to welcome Tui’s Marella Voyager to the island.
He revealed the new berth six construction project, which began in January this year, should be completed next July.
