The newly formed sugar company should start work on Monday with a number of employees.
The Barbados Sustainable Energy Co-operative Society Limited (Co-Op Energy) will be running the Agricultural Business Company Ltd. (ABC), and Barbados Energy and Sugar Company Incorporated (BESC) – which will be responsible for the production and sale of sugar.
Chairman of Co-Op Energy, Lieutenant Colonel Trevor Browne, in an interview with CBC, says all systems are go.
In relation to the actual start of the crop and the operations of the Portvale Factory, Lieutenant Colonel Brown told the Morning Report that too is shaping up nicely.
