Police investigations are ongoing into a shooting incident which has left a man nursing a gun shot injury.
Police say the incident was reported to the Operations Control Room at 10:55 a.m. today.
They say the 32 year old pizza delivery van driver had stopped momentarily along Taylor’s Gap, Weston, St. James, when an unknown man came out of the bushes in an area near an abandoned house, and started firing shots in his direction.
The driver jumped out a window of the van in an effort to escape. He was chased by the assailant, who continued shooting at him. The driver received a wound to his right buttock.
An ambulance was summoned and after examination took him to the QEH for medical treatment.
The assailant escaped on foot.
