The Best-dos Santos Public Health Lab conducted 2,255 tests and recorded 411 new COVID-19 cases (185 males and 226 females) on Monday, November 8th.

Of the new cases, 98 people are under the age of 18, and 313 are 18 years and older.

There were 896 people in isolation facilities, and 6,661 in home isolation.

Two deaths were recorded – a 90 year old Barbadian woman, who died at the Blackman and Gollop Isolation Facility on November 7th, and a 79 year old Barbadian man, who died at the Harrison’s Point Isolation facility. They were both unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the number of people who have died from COVID-19 to 183, as of November 8th.

The total number of individuals vaccinated with at least one dose under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19 is 150,639 (66% of the eligible population). A total of 130,367 people (48.1% of the total population or 57.1% of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated.

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.

The public health laboratory has carried out 405,139 tests since February 2020 and recorded 20,676 confirmed cases (9,968 males and 10,708 females) of the viral illness.
