Barbadians told be on the lookout for weather updates

The general public is being warned to be on the look out for updates from the Barbados Meteorological Services into the weekend.

Wet conditions are expected to continue across Barbados from today, Thursday, October 7th, 2021, with rainfall accumulations expected to peak over the weekend. This as the combination of a trough system and a tropical wave is forecast to affect the island.

Intermittent scattered moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout this time period with rainfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and isolated higher amounts are possible over the weekend.

This type of weather activity will warrant the issuance of watches and warnings at short notice.
