Sharp criticism from the outgoing governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Cleviston Haynes, regarding the difficulties often experienced by some people trying to open a bank account.
He was speaking at a farewell dinner at the Hilton Barbados Resort over the weekend in his honour.
Mr Haynes told the audience the proposed Financial Tribunal should address the challenge.
In his address, Mr Haynes also acknowledged the support he received during his tenure.
Minister in the Minister of Finance Ryan Straughn, in paying tribute to Mr. Haynes, said the outgoing governor’s stewardship helped to strengthen the Government’s hand in positioning Barbados for the disruptions that were ahead.
