Chairman of the Fair Trading Commission Tammy Bryan has announced that she has made a decision to recuse herself from further participation in the Barbados Light and Power Company rate hearings conducted by the FTC.
Giving some background on her decision, the Chairman says as the FTC moves towards the various hearings and conferences in the application for the review of rates by the BL&P, certain information has come to light which caused her and the FTC to seek legal advice.
She says while the advice received shows no reason for concern, she has still decided to recuse herself from the process.
