Lucky escape for woman and granddaughter

A lucky escape for a woman and her seven year old granddaughter, following a two vehicle accident along the ABC Highway, near the Barbados Water Authority this morning.

Roving cameraman, Chris Wood was on the scene moments after the accident, which occurred after 7:15 involving a car and container truck.

Emergency personnel, including the police and ambulance service arrived quickly on the scene.

The car sustained damage, including to its left side and front bumper area.

The truck meanwhile cleared away a number of palm trees, damaging its windscreen before ending up on the embankment.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 52 year old Lisa Deterville was later transported by ambulance for medical treatment. Her granddaughter was left visibly shaken by the incident.
