Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley wants Barbadians to treat Tropical Storm Elsa as a real threat and be prepared.
Ms. Mottley says also as the country responds to this weather system, which is expected to make its presence felt in the early hours of tomorrow morning, the priorities are saving lives and minimizing damage.
She told a media briefing at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre this afternoon there has been a greater level of preparation and more attention paid to detail because of the seriousness of the situation.
The Prime Minister also asked those who may be in vulnerable situations to make use of the shelters or seek safe harbour with relatives.
She has also warned those adventure seekers who may want to venture out during the event.
