Consumers in the United States will in a few days be able to buy locally produced and packaged sugar in supermarkets there.
That is the word tonight as the Barbados Agricultural Management Company (BAMD), shipped two containers of the product to Miami.
Chief Executive Officer Orlando Atherley and other sugar officials spoke to our Trevor Thorpe.
Meanwhile, Mr Atherley says Barbados’ lone sugar factory Portvale, has received 7,000 tonnes of cane since the start of the 2023 sugar harvest.
He told CBC News that the harvest is going well.
