The Barbados Private Sector Association (BPSA) has announced the election of Trisha Tannis as the new Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors.
Ms. Tannis is the first woman to hold the position.
She succeeds Ed Clarke, who did not seek re-election.
Ms. Tannis, the Managing Director of the Unicomer (Barbados) Group, has over 20 years of experience in financial management and corporate governance, and was the first female appointed to that office in the Unicomer Caribbean and Latin America Group.
She previously served as Director of the BPSA for the period 2019/2021, representing the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In accepting her appointment as Chairman, Ms. Tannis noted her objective is to provide dedicated leadership on behalf of the private sector, particularly during unprecedented challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Chairman, Ms. Tannis will lead the umbrella body of private sector associations in Barbados both at the national level and within the Social Partnership of Barbados.
