Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Ian Gooding-Edghill is pleased with the island’s tourism recovery following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While admitting the country has been late out the blocks, he says Barbados, like other Caribbean destinations has seen a resurgence of travel.
Though not providing statistics, he says arrival numbers for December last year and January this year are encouraging.
Mr. Gooding-Edghill was at the time delivering a virtual address at the first-ever Global Tourism Resilience Conference held in Jamaica. He says Barbados continues to develop a number of strategies in terms of maintaining resilience and sustainability.
