Barbados’ Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley has announced Guyana is to join the Regional Security System (RSS).
She provided the update in a post on her Facebook and on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade pages noting member countries have agreed to sign a protocol to the treaty that established the RSS for the accession of Guyana.
The RSS was created to counter threats to the stability of the region and for the defence and security of the region.
The Barbadian leader says the Heads’ acceptance of Guyana in the RSS is another example of regional cooperation and integration in action.
Prime Minister Mottley and Guyana’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali are currently in Belize for the two day 33rd Inter-sessional Meeting of Heads of Government of CARICOM that opened yesterday.
