Barbados’ passport continues to be the most powerful in the Caribbean.
The latest Henley Passport Index ranked the Barbadian passport as number 21 in the world with its visa-free access to 163 destinations.
The Bahamas was close behind Barbados at position number 23 with visa-free access to 156 destinations, followed by St. Kitts and Nevis at position 24.
Japan however was replaced by Singapore at the top of the ranking of countries with powerful passports.
Japan, which had occupied the number 1 position for 5 straight years, fell to 3rd place.
According to the report, holders of the Singaporean passport can visit 192 of the 227 countries and regions in the world without a prior visa.
Germany, Italy and Spain shared second place, giving passport holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 190 countries and regions.
