Mount Gay Rum has paid tribute to one of its late employees, naming a rum in his honour.
The seventh addition to the Master Blender Collection, “The Coffee Still Expression: A Tribute to Blues” was launched at the St. Lucy distillery.
The limited edition release is named after the late Reynold “Blues” Hinds, who died in 2021 after more than 50 years of service to the company.
Managing Director of Mount Gay, Antoine Couvreur, says the rum comes from the first distillation done by Mr. Hinds, using the historic coffee still which was restored under his guidance.
Speaking on behalf of the family, grandson Tsean, revealed that Mr. Hinds’ legacy continues with his son Wave Rollock, who also works as a distiller with Mount Gay.
