GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Two hotels and two homes were destroyed by fire early Sunday in the gold mining community of Eteringbang located on the border with Venezuela.
According to Demerara Waves Online News, no one was injured in the blaze that may have stemmed from a faulty generator.
The Guyana Fire Service is yet to issue a statement on the blaze.
The blaze was extinguished by residents who used water from the nearby river to extinguish the blaze.
There are no fire fighters in the community.
