Trinidad, CMC – Police have charged two men in connection with the murders of four members of a family including a 10-year-old child last month that rocked the community of Guanapo in Trinidad and Tobago.
In a statement, the police said that the two men, ages 22 and 24, both from the Guanapo area, are expected to appear in the Arima Magistrates’ Court, east of Port of Spain, on Monday. They are jointly charged with the murders of the four members of the Peterkin family and the wounding of five other family members on September 21.
The two men were charged over the weekend with five counts of having a gun and ammunition and shooting with intent.
During the early hours of September 21, gunmen opened fire at the family’s home hitting nine relatives leaving Faith Peterkin, 10, Arianna Peterkin, 14, Shane Peterkin, 17, and Tiffany Peterkin, 19, dead.
The youngest victim was a student from the Santa Rosa Government Primary School.
